Container Escape

« Back to Glossary Index

Attackers break out of a container (like Docker or Kubernetes pods) to access the underlying host or other containers.

Why it matters:

  • Containers share resources — a single escape can compromise an entire cluster.
  • Common in microservices and DevOps environments.

Pro tip: Keep container images hardened, avoid running containers as root, and enforce pod security policies.
